This link was provided by Weston's Aunt Lisa and explains everything fairly well. The only thing I would mention is the statistics concern babies under 3 months of age. However, we suspect Weston did have some bile flow prior to the Kasai. He had colored stool and the symptoms were slower to develop than most. So things are looking up and we have a very happy, giggling, active, and much more comfortable little boy!

Pause on the Blog...& Life for that matter!

Just as an update...we won't have too many pictures up for the next little while. Little Weston has a liver disease called Biliary Atresia. We have been in the hospital for the last two weeks going home sometime this next week. Grandma and Grandpa Briggs and mom and dad are taking turns staying at the hospital with the tough little guy. But Weston is doing much better than the doctors expected for discovering the disease two months later than they usually do. We love you all and appreciate all the support, love, and prayers we have received. They have been needed and felt. We'll keep you updated and hope to return to our normal lives soon!

Hey Chubbs!

Weston with his Wubbanub. What is a Wubbanub, you ask? A Wubbanub is that frog he is holding with a pacifier coming out of its mouth. The only problem is the pacifier is way too small for Weston's large mouth. Oh well, he still likes it. And he looks chubby in the picture because the outfit is too big and as you can tell he has a full belly!

New Toys

We'll try anything to keep him entertained. And gradually, he is being entertained by his toys more and more. We got him some booty rattles! Those green striped socks have rattles on the end. I don't think he has figured out where the noise is coming from.

Who is that?

Weston enjoys looking at pictures of himself and when mom is gone....sometimes looking at pictures of her helps calm him down.

Weston is learning to use his hands. All I did was provide the water bottle and he knew exactly what to do with it. He is a smarty pants!

Learning to crawl

Weston is trying to learn to crawl. However, we have been at this stage for the past month. These sessions only last about ten minutes though. He does not seem to have enough patience for any longer. He has a TON of energy and loves to kick his legs. He has the crawling motions down, just not the balance.

Mood Swings

Our lives are spent trying to make Weston happy. It's a good goal to have! Too bad we still think that frowny face is hilarious.

Make Your Choice

Many people are trying to persuade him. You may not be able to see the label, but that is a diet coke. We're not sure if he is a DP man or a DC man yet. At this point in time, however, mom and dad will take anything with caffeine.

In the hot tub, poppin' bubbly

I'm sure Weston will appreciate naked pictures of him on the web years from now. But who can resist those dark brown eyes and olive skin from his mom! I decided I needed to go tanning, though. Too many people ask in amazement where he gets such dark skin from and then follow my answer with a questionable look. Sorry I have not been outside much this summer!

Weston has now graduated from the sink to a tub of his own just to tell you how big he is getting!

Now we have Weston, who was born on 6-6-07. He was 6 lbs. 4 oz. and 19 inches long. He really is so fun and why we decided to do a blog so we could keep you updated on all the cute, crazy things he does. We aren't interesting enough on our own, but Weston definitely keeps us on our toes!

Then came the third...

As a mean trick, Doug got ME a dog for MY birthday. We couldn't resist him as a puppy. Mooja was our baby until we got the real thing. And now he has noticed a clear demotion since Weston's arrival.
