Years ago, I scrapbooked this newspaper clipping knowing one day it would come in verrrrry handy. And indeed it has! There is an uncanny resemblance of this little girl to my oldest sister Lisa as a child. Do you agree???

Weston's Status
He is doing considerably well for his situation! We just think he is so fun and cute still! He is gradually learning to sit up more and more by himself. These things, like crawling, walking and even sitting up will be delayed. His belly just sets his balance way off. You can tell sitting for too long in one position causes him pain. Being in the hospital so much has really affected his attention span. But after the surgery, we have been told, you will see the yellow drain from his skin within a matter of hours and days and he will catch up very quickly developmentally.
He has a lot of difficulty pooping and throws up quite frequently. The doctor cut down the medications because I was worried that he is just throwing up all of them and, thus, they weren't benefiting him at all. This decrease has helped out tremendously and Weston is so patient and wonderful about taking all his nasty meds night and day! He still doesn't sleep through the night at 7 1/2 months, but oh well! He LOVES baby food!
He has been so silly lately and he is getting really good with his hands. A few weeks ago, he started waving his hand back and forth and now it is his whole arm flailing around. He loves to read and he loves music. We just love him!
As I mentioned our meeting last week, we had quite an eye-opener. We saw pictures and discovered all the risks and lifelong problems Weston will have. I won't go into detail, but it was the first time in a while, we were a little scared. But on the way home, we knew this isn't something we can think about a month from now or even a week from now. All we can do is go from day to day and have faith that our Heavenly Father has a plan for us, because we know he does. And Weston is worth every bit of this trial.
We love you all and are so grateful for all your prayers and support! Let us know if you have any questions!

Catching Up

Weston slept about 5-6 hours during the day when we got back home. All that attention really wore him out!

Bucket Head!

This was too funny, he posed for every picture! Going through the pictures, I just really wanted to include them all because each one is different from the last. What a ham...

Winnie the Pooh

Weston's likes cartoons, but he LOVES Winnie the Pooh and the Funny Hunny Tree. He is so excited, he is on the edge of his seat :)

Jerky

Weston is trying out new baby foods and the dietician said we can use beef jerky to help with teething. Only, we skipped fruits and veggies and went straight for the turkey dinners. Weston needs all the fat he can get! This is Weston's aunt Lisa.

A Very Briggs' Christmas

Weston received a "Rainforest Jumperoo" from his uncle Aaron, aunt Kristen Lee and aunt Aimee and many other fabulous gifts from my other siblings. We love them! Hopefully we can get our hands on the video Lisa took when we first opened the jumperoo, it was priceless. In the mean time, here are some pictures that are really great. We opened it on Christmas Eve. It was my favorite Christmas moment this year.

Weston's Fascination with his Tongue!
He almost sounds like he is wining, but it is still funny.

He's Got the Giggles
We had the opportunity to spend Christmas with my family in Albuquerque, NM. Weston and I went down a week early on December 18th and Doug joined us on the 22nd. We had a loads of fun and Weston received muchos muchos regalos from his aunts and uncles and grandparents. He told me to to tell you all thank you for him. This video was taken at my parents' house. I was sliding on the hardwood floors toward him.
