The Dream Team

Someday, when Stan Van Gundy retires from coaching, this would be the best commentated game ever...

Stan Van Gundy, Jeff Van Gundy, and Avery Johnson, respectively:

I'm sorry, did I say BEST? I meant, MOST ANNOYING. I know most of my gals may not be familiar with these fellas, so just ask your hubbies.

Your hubbies will also be impressed that I thought of this so-called "dream team" post all on my own. I wasn't super into sports when Doug and I got married, but he just explains things so well that he makes everything really interesting. He would be the GREATEST commentator. Anyways, Jeff Van Gundy's and Avery's voices really make my skin crawl. Mostly Jeff's just bugs me because I think he is stupid without any basis whatsoever. And we happened to be watching the Magic play the Celtics tonight and I heard Stan Van Gundy's voice for the first time and came up with this post, which I dedicate to my bro-in-law who is a die-hard Jeff Van Gundy fan. Also, I wanted to leave this post as is without this paragraph of explanation, but Doug said it require a background story. I'm the blogger, Doug. Stay out of this.

Sidenotes:

1. Does anyone have any lunch suggestions for my toddler??? He is getting really tired of PB&J on whole wheat bread.

2. I taught Weston how to say "happy," and it's the best word he has learned yet.

3. Thank you "kessey" (out of the mouth of the babe weston) for coming and playing. I miss your face already kace!

Let's see...lunches...macaroni and cheese with hot dogs, hot dogs, spaghettios, ham and cheese sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich/quesadillas and soup, leftovers from dinner, tuna sandwich, pasta salad, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, chicken parmesian (using chicken nuggets), cold plate with fingers foods (ham, cheese, peas and carrots, etc.), pizza, chili (super mild) and cornbread, soup and breadsticks (for dipping). That's a start...

So Tammy mentioned all I was thinking of for foods. That is a lot of great ideas! I don't know who those people are, but impressed that you do!

Autumn is 2...she eats chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, fish sticks, hot dogs, cut up pieces of frozen pizza, small hamburgers (like a jr bacon cheeseburger from Wendys or Jack in the box, or the mcdouble from McDonalds). She is also a big fan of french fries, so I buy big bags and cook them in the oven. She likes tater tots...she is not great with silverware...she eats most things with her hands, although she always tries to use it...so she eats a lot of finger food. I made jambalaya the other day and she picked out the sausage on her plate. Anyways! Hope that helps!!

Oh my goodness, I can't stand Avery Johnson! Just ask Mitch, EVERY time I see him or hear him I have to mock him. I call him a little fairy. We were meant to be friends Stef!

If you're looking for healthy alternatives, Jessica Seinfeld wrote this book called 'Deceptively Delicious'. The website is http://www.deceptivelydelicious.com/site/index.php and I've heard she has some excellent ideas. Chicken and rice, pasta with pesto aioli sauce, bean burrito, www.cookinglight.com has some good soup recipes I like.

I wish i knew who you were talking about. I am no longer sports savy...was I ever???

My kids eat anything. I just make sure they have a protein and fruits and veggies every day. Start now with limiting snacks or else he may not eat meals. My kids can have as many apples or carrots as they want. But only 2 snacky foods (pretzles, cheese...) I hide spinach in all of their food, smoothies, sandwiches, pasta, whatever.

ahhh, the adventures of feeding your child.
